Book 1: Candles

This book, Candles, is our first adventure in The Non-Electric Lighting Series. The series is aimed at people who want to survive whatever it is that Mother Nature throws at us next - blizzards, blackouts, or Carrington events.

This is a series of DIY books (Do It Yourself). And KISS books (Keep It Simple, Stupid). This volume, Candles, is about producing LIGHT. Not aromatherapy. Not ambiance.

This book shows you how to make candles; how to improvise candles; how to improvise candleholders. It describes different kinds of wicks and waxes and substitutions. It gives you a leg up, a better-than-even chance of coping when a blackout finds you far from home.

But it's equally important to know what NOT to do. YouTube has several videos on emergency candles. Some of those videos are in error and pose huge dangers. And YouTube is not alone. What part of FIRETRUCK don't you understand?

This book reveals as much folly and as many hazards as possible.
