The Washington Cookbook was first published in 1982. It is a timeless collection of over 650 recipes including sections on Seafoods, Wild Game, Breads (including sourdough starter), Main Dishes, Soups and Salads, Vegetables, Other Lands, and a wonderful Desserts section that includes a subsection of Apple recipes.
Additional sections include everything from making Herb Vinegars, drying fruits and vegetables, how to identify and safely eat wild foods, old time and outdoor camping recipes, cooking charts and much more. It makes a great addition to anyone's cookbook library or would be a great way to start one.
For those who enjoy western art, each section of recipes is introduced by an original pen and ink, charcoal or scratchboard illustration drawn by some of Washington's most talented artists which include Don Crook and Dan Jordan.
