WHAT DO NURSES DO?

The book gives a small history of nursing and what types of things nurses are expected to do in ther profession. The person relating the story is telling hher grandchildren what nursing was like for her when she practiced as a nurse. She also relates the story of a colleague who was part of Operation Baby Lift at the end of the Vietnam war.

The book is appropriate for readers in the 3 to 6 grade reading level depending on the child's individual ability and understanding.

The purpose is to stimulate not only an interest in the profession of nursing but also to provide a story about an actual event in history.
