Recently graduated from university, 24 year old Sumiko Kichida has her whole life ahead of her. Rather than throwing her life away for her career or by becoming a Japanese housewife, Sumiko takes the road less travelled. Her plan to improve her English by going on a year-long homestay in Vancouver goes completely haywire.
