Kiss of the King Brown

Sean Buttenberg is a young outsider in the riverine twin town of Koonarook -Caladonia in the nineteen fifties. He is nearly killed in a sudden storm and mysteriously marked by lightning (Dingarra). This leads Sean on a series of escapades involving the river land, its people, and animals.
The fear, prejudice and drama are palpable as the characters, friends and foes, young and old, settlers and original inhabitants move through interwoven drama and adventure-misadventure. Sean leads a battle where relationships are tried, tested and forged into stronger creations in a crucible of prejudice and ignorance. As the struggle reaches its climax, Sean fights for this place that he has come to love and of which he has become a part.
Kiss of the King Brown captures a unique period of Australian life, a world that has long gone.
