With "Resurrection of a Dying Breed," Abdul introduces readers to Carlos G. Freeman, a young man seemingly trapped in a concrete jungle riddled by street wars and an out of control narcotic drug trade stretching from coast to coast. A native of Fort "Murda" Worth, Texas, Freeman, like many Black men in America's inner cities, is trapped in a genocidal game spiraling towards destruction. Crack cocaine's influx and overpowering flood may have sealed the fate of many, but with Freeman, time will prove that from amongst lost souls, an unpredicted one will rise.

"Resurrection of a Dying Breed" finds Freeman released to the streets after serving time for bad deeds done. Raised and bred by the last "Tru's," he emerges a Black Ghetto Messiah resurrected from within America's caged graves to enlighten the streets and prison yards about a rampant government scheme. By federal design, the urban hoods have been molded into breeding grounds that pimp and exploit its residents, enslaving them in a multi-billion dollar prison complex. However, Carlos Freeman has a master plan and is determined to turn the tables, liberating the minds and dollars of his people.

An intriguing read, the plot wickedly weaves elements of high drama, street life, violence, politics and love with mental messages to educate and stimulate the mind. Dynamic twists of events set the pace toward shifting the reader's outlook on the inner and outer workings of the urban community. While Freeman sets about a task that looks like a territorial drug takeover, his true intentions are far more covert.
