Modern Medicine’ is the story about a little boy named Rashad who must have his tonsils removed however he is afraid of the hospital. Rashad has never been to the hospital and does not know what he should expect. Rashad has a loving, caring friend who is like a great grandmother; he calls her ‘Gramma Daisey’. She understands his fears and is able to encourage Rashad to muster the courage he needs for his hospital visit. While at the hospital, Rashad experiences the gentle care of the hospital staff and is soon both fascinated and amazed by the many wonderful modern types of equipment!
