My Sicily Scrapbook: Memoir of an Accidental Expat

My husband's last tour of duty in the armed forces prompted us to see what may be out there in the horizon for us. In no time, we found ourselves right smack in the middle of Sicilian culture, faced with numerous possibilities. Three years felt like a long time to go AWOL from the life we had been used to back in the states, but we were willing to embark on a personal journey that pushed us outside of our comfort zone.

Today, I have in my possession a scrapbook. It contains snapshots of people and places that played a significant role in our lifelong quest. In this scrapbook are photos and poems that best describe what I perceive life should be all about.

In this book My SICILY Scrapbook, Memoir of an Accidental Expat, I hope to share with you the scents, sights, and sounds of a place that have changed my own perception of how I should live my life.
