The Christmas Tree That Cried is based on an actual act of vandalism against the Christmas tree at my school, Hilton Elementary School, about 1947. My older sister Val G. Mason and I remember well the happening. Our younger sister, Anne G. Fanelli, age four at the time, doesn't recall the actual experience.
