Mama Melisi and Me

Mama Melisi and Me is a compilation of the author's short stories, each followed by one of her mom's delicious recipes. Some of the stories depict life growing up in an Italian household in New Jersey. Others are fun and hilarious observations of events and experiences.

The project started after Mama Melisi unexpectedly lost her only sister, Rose. Thinking a healthy distraction was in order, the author began writing humorous and heartwarming stories, and requesting specific recipes via e-mail from Mama Melisi. The plot of each story was always an entertaining surprise and ended with the select recipe.

The long-distance collaboration between mother and daughter continued, and soon gained a larger audience of family and friends. The idea was born to share "Mama Melisi and Me" with you, too.
