In the late 1960's through the early 70's, Mr. Vortex was known as one of the most talented saxophonists of his time.
By 1976, Mr. Vortex suddenly disappeared from the music scene that he helped spawn.
Over a decade later, the legendary saxophonist revered by thousands went from secondary to has-been to never-was; and by then, Mr. Vortex was considered a relic by many, except for one of his greatest admirers, fifteen-year-old Hank Burl.
Despite Mr. Vortex being well-before Hank's time, Hank has found a particular liking to Mr. Vortex's music, as well as his history; however, when Hank starts to delve deeper into the origins of Mr. Vortex's haunting past, he will eventually discover the reasons why he disappeared in the height of stardom. The answers that Hank finds will not only be ones so dark and disturbing that he will never be able to forget, but also ones that will possibly cost him his own life.
