Sports. There's nothing more to actually say, but I will keep typing anyway. Sports aren't just games, they're a chaotic blend of emotions within people which rival that of someone locked up in Arkham Asylum; it transforms a normal person into complete insanity and subdues the already-crazy for a matter of hours. There's no scientific proof of why sports have such an effect on the mind of a person (unless we have to open the concussion discussion before you even high dive into this thing), but then again I'm not a psychologist, or a psychiatrist, or a neurosurgeon, or a scientist; I'm just an average guy who grew up playing sports, loving sports, hating sports, loving sports, and playing sports again. Ahh, the cycle of an athlete and a fan.

Whether you love or hate them, are quite knowledgeable or have no interest because of misguided assumptions or other hobbies, sports are more important to the world as a whole than you would ever imagine. In Sports: An Average Carl's Take we look at the development of the athlete and a fan from the minute they're born through the obsession of professional sports as an adult, we begin to understand the cultural significance that athletics provide all over the world, and the effects the sporting world has on the mind and body; and, of course, we make fun of it all through the learning process.
