Six Little Scars

Confessions don't come easy. For 25 years Johnny Lee Smith carries his scars inside. He desperately wants to share with his son the details of how his own journey into manhood became dangerously tangled with the elders search for answers. It took place at a time when family meant everything and the scars of one had become the scars of all.

On the night before he dies, Johnny Lee gives yellow writing tablets to his son, commanding him to read and burn. Matthew reads, but can't bring himself to destroy the pages. After a year of whiskey drinking sleepless nights, the son realizes he is unable to burn the pages because he's missed something.
