Working for Glory: A Theology for Doing Work that Matters

For many going to work is like going into a deep dark dungeon: it's difficult, keeps you from more enjoyable things, and there is little hope of escaping it. Work feels like a form of bondage. Others value work because of what they gain from it such as: money, possessions, and fame. Yet the fleeting satisfaction from these is never aligned with what was hoped for. Others seek to honor the Lord in work, but are not exactly sure how to do that in their difficult situations and environment.

Many challenges and wrong conceptions about work leave people sitting on the job wondering if their work matters at all. Fortunately, God has a bigger, better, clearer plan. The Bible teaches the purpose of life is to glorify God, and this shines meaning and significance to all we do-work included. Working for Glory seeks to give substantive answers to questions on work and life, and inspires people to see how they can do work that really matters.
