Point to Reading the Bible: Matthew 28:20 in Action

Amos 8:11 says, "Behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord God, "when I will send a famine on the land~not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord."

Professional surveys tell us that as few as one out of ten professing Christians in America have read the Bible. Can someone say he believes what the Bible says if he hasn't read it? Just as important, can we fulfill the Great Commission, making disciples and teaching them to observe all our Lord has commanded if we don't know what those commands are?
