In 1940's central Kansas, Maggie leaves home to begin her adult life. Twice, through no fault of her own, her dreams for a happy future are dashed. On the surface Maggie handles her troubles with grace, but underneath it all lies a dark and dangerous journey to building the life she always wanted.
