Two who were unenthusiastic about coming to Ireland are not much taken with each other, either. Ethan Hawthorne will eventually inherit an earldom and Kendall House, so it makes sense to come to Ireland to learn about the estate, but he would rather remain a dashing young blade in London. Melissa Preston has been dispatched to stay with her brother in Ireland by her mother who is at her wits' end, not knowing how to cope with her daughter's unwillingness to accept marriage at any price.
