The Mary Martha Principle: Devotion Before Action

One morning in 2006 I woke and in a moment of time had a vision. I seen what it would be like to find myself sitting in a chair; staring out a window at age 65 or 70; bankrupt; broke; with no vision or purpose for the future. It was the greatest wake up call of my life. I will never forget it as long as I live. I immediately responded by repeating these same words in the positive affirmative: "I will die going forward; I will not die in bed or sitting in a chair staring out a window: bankrupt; broke; with no vision or hope for the future." Immediately came to me these words which I believe were given to me by the Holy Spirit: "It's better to die at sea in quest of the dream in faith still believing, than to die anchored to the shore in fear still dreaming."

This phrase of words became my motto for living for the next several years. I was deeply in debt. My marriage; and in fact my whole Christian life was all slipping away. The environment of love; God's amazing grace and powerful anointing as I had known it now seemed a thing of the past. I was back in a godless world working on a job with minimal pay, and swearing, cursing, men and women all around me. Reverence for the name of Jesus was like a foreign concept in this sea of profanity. The job was more like a band aid, barely enough to stop the financial bleeding, and definitely not the cure.

This message is about God's remedy for disaster through the "Mary Martha Principle." God has a plan for total Recovery and Restoration of all things. The remainder of this book is dedicated to discovering this plan, and applying it to my own life. There is no disaster so great that God cannot bring restoration. There is no sickness or disease that is so great that He cannot heal it. There is no addiction or bondage so powerful that He is not more powerful to bring deliverance. There is no darkness so deep that His light and truth cannot penetrate it. We are talking about the One who has power to raise the dead. The One who created the heaven and the earth by the power of His spoken word. Surely He has a plan for me? This plan is revealed here step by step through the "Mary Martha Principle."
