Unfurled: Nature Poetry

We read stories of those who live in wild places and are connected to nature, being protected when a firestorm circumnavigates, one nurtured and well tended property, whilst eradicating the modern, edifice to ego, in a heart beat.

Nature heals, stirs depths of emotion, strips bare and heals again, without agenda. Respect, rather than fear is the key to connecting, empathically with her ever-changing cycles.

Unfurled

Leaves stir; a gentle wind blows after the storm

Rippling still waters across the ponds

Nothing fits the pattern of the once-time norm

Reeds rustle; bracken unfurls green fronds

Blackbird sings

His cry of triumph rings

Autumn-flavoured colours, float and spin

Summer’s last days, reflect gold on my skin
