'It was only a bridge' Doug and his parents thought after they witnessed a dreadful suicide on the bridge. Imagine the unspeakable horror that the 15-years-old Doug felt, seeing a head detach from a body, a sharp painful slap from a flying hand and a mysterious black suitcase which seemed out of the ordinary in a most macabre way. It was not surprising then, that the teenager immediately collapsed and fell into a coma. He woke up 24 hours later, only to discover that his nightmares had only just begun.
Dreams turn to nightmares and nightmares turn to frightening hallucinations for the poor Doug. A series of events follow which makes Doug and the people around him start to question his state of mind. Could his hallucinations possibly be real? Who knows? Doug keeps his ordeal away from his stubborn parents who simply dismiss anything mystical. Unable to get support from his parents he turns to his friends Krista, Thompson and Mick. He tells them about his terrors and with their support he appears to get better. Soon he is back to being the old Doug, having fun with his friends and day-dreaming about his sexy English teacher.
Then, soon after, Doug realises that it is after all not the end of his toils.
'It was not only a bridge' Doug soon discovers. When things start spinning out of control, his mother can no longer turn a blind eye and she soon starts believing her son. As his father continues to disbelieve his son, Doug and his mother race against time to find out what really happened on the fateful bridge. But would it be too late when the truth is uncovered?
