*Can I be sure I'm a Christian and going to heaven?
*I'm definitely a Christian, but now I seem to be stuck. Why? *I used to believe, but what's happened to the faith I once had?
Do you sometimes ask yourself one of these questions? If you do, you're not alone. Even if you don't have any uncertainties in your own faith, maybe you know someone you can help.
Whether this book is for you, or you're reading it to help a friend, it provides some commonsense advice on living a fuller and more confident life in Jesus Christ, however badly things have been going up to now.
The three sections of this book are in no particular order, and there is no suggestion that they are inevitable steps in the Christian life! Some Christians may never experience periods of darkness or doubt. Others suffer from doubts all the time. Doubts are not something shameful that you must never discuss or even admit to, but it is helpful to concentrate on the certainties rather than the uncertainties. This book is companion to Starting Out, also by Chris Wright, a book for new Christians, and a companion to So, What Is a Christian? an introduction to new life in Christ.
