The Summer of 1916 heralded the beginning of The Battles on the Somme. The research for The Mad Game novels has resulted in a huge photographic record of the region, as it is today.

This album contains some of the photographs that show the battlefields as they appear today, presented with a hope that they will interest and inspire a new generation to visit the battlefields and to help them understand what happened when the world went to war.
