Songs In The Night

Ana Lisa de Jong's poetry book, "Songs in the Night" is a personal devotional directed from the heart of the poetess to her Creator. She tells the story of a year in a voice which rings with elated anticipation of the sacredness in all things that will all be reunited in the days to come. Each poem is followed by a reflective verse from the Holy
Bible which ties Lisa's words to the scribes of ancient days. She seeks to show the timeless nature of love and of loss in the circle of the days and nights and seasons. She seeks to show her faith in the Creator of all things and the giver and sustainer of life by releasing her soul through a river of words that are meant to be shared.

The Bible speaks to us in many ways and in Collosians 3.16 we are commanded to be "teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs". Ana Lisa de Jong's book is her message of faith to the world and her way of teaching us in psalms and spiritual songs. With titles like," Sanctification,
Heartbroken, Joy, Songs in the Night, To the Sun, I look for You, Surrounded by
Love, and Life as a Gift," we are brought into the intimate story of a never ending love between a merciful God and a sacred creation. Ana Lisa has dedicated her book, "To all those who have given her a reason to write." I think that I speak for many people in the world when I say, "thank you" to her for sharing her words of light and redemption and for her ability to see the light of Christ in each of us that she has shared her writings with.
