In the Kingdom of the Immortal Samurai, the Imperial Leader Yokami Sukani and his warrior wife Tomoe Gazen have waited centuries for the arrival of the next Daughter of the Sword - a woman chosen by the katana.
Even though it is forbidden in Samurai law, Bishamon the God of War alters mortal history. As punishment he is deposed and his katana - the Sword of War is confiscated by Yokami Sukani. The katana must be lost forever. Bishamon must never again take possession of the sword. The weapon must be hidden where he would never think to search.
17th April, 1746 - Three days before the Battle of Culloden - Yokami time sifts to the Ancient Scottish Highlands, intent on dropping the weapon into an ancient creator and letting the earth erode it to nothing more than bare metal. In the distance a blonde woman is collecting plants, when suddenly Yokami's katana The God Killer vibrates in welcome. Yokami's heart is hammering. The katana recognised the woman. Suddenly Epona the Scottish Goddess of horses, healing springs and crops approached him. Horrified, she realised the Sword of War is in Yokami's possession. He explained his mission and that his katana had recognised the woman. Epona demanded he rid the Highlands of the sword immediately as the Scots awaited a girl child with the Sight of the Friesian horses. The Sword of War could threaten the child. She explained the woman's husband Angus MacDonald was a fierce warrior. Was this man's progeny destined to be the next Daughter of the Sword?
Yokami informs Epona of the history to come - the devastating loss by the Scots at the battle of Culloden, the starving crofters and the slaughter of their beasts. Epona is frantic. The Scots had waited two hundred years for the arrival of the prophesised girl child. Not yet born, her lineage must be preserved and escape the battle of Culloden.
Epona, unable to time sift agrees to hide the Sword of War forever. In return Yokami must sift the parents of the prophesised girl child to safety so that she can be born and grow to develop the Sight with the mighty Friesians - the pride of Scotland. She must be saved.
Epona morphs the Sword of War into a Protector. Yokami meets with Angus and Marie MacDonald and shows them what is to come. The clan chieftain agrees they should leave and take the Friesians with them - for the English would surely slaughter them.
Yokami time sifts Angus, Marie and the Protector to modern day Australia. Connor MacDonald is born and as prophesised she has the Sight with the Friesians
Brutality finds her. Yokami Sukani's katana chooses Connor as the next Daughter of the Sword. He mentors her and she is highly skilled. A chance signal from the Protector is heard by Bishamon. He now knows the Sword of War is out there somewhere and he will not stop until he finds it and it is back in his possession. Will the child of dual prophecy be Bishamon's instrument of revenge?
