Don't Forget Thursday

Shirley Gault began by writing Valentine's Day rhymes for friends before having her first poetry published.

Her style has been described as 'romantic,' and she says that being a 'people person and people watcher' enables her to cover love in all its forms - love of people, love of places and love of life.

"My inspiration can come from a single word or a beautiful sunset; nature's inspiration is endless," says Shirley.

"Her poems will make you laugh, they will make you cry, they will make you think. In 2000 I interviewed Shirley on Downtown Radio and, after being introduced to her writing, invited her to read some of her work on the programme.

"We received an instant response and her readings became a popular and regular feature on Friday nights. I am delighted that Shirley's work is gaining wider recognition," says Broadcaster & Entertainer Candy Devine.

This is Shirley's fourth poetry collection; she has also written two novels and is currently contemplating a third.
