Footsteps to Freedom tells the inspiring story of a young man who dramatically flees his persecution at the hands of the Islamic Police, in Iran. He pays people smugglers to help him climb the Turkish Mountains, almost succumbing to exposure and cold, nearly dies of starvation in Turkey, was detained and interrogated in Russia, due to holding a false passport, and finally, after months of frustrating delays, flies to Holland before finally arriving in his ultimate goal, Canada. This intimate portrait of determination, and at times despair, demonstrates how his hope and faith in personal freedom, ultimately prevails.
