Pressley is a small mill town near the Alabama coast. In the summer of 1970, great social changes are astir within its traditional blue collar, poor white Southern culture and a diverse array of characters - eccentrics, misfits, the lost and bewildered are seeking a way out of their loneliness and isolation.
