Prequel to "Millicent of Essex". Melisent of Whitenshire is a woman living in the 11th Century. When the Normans invade England and two Norman brothers—Charles and Hugh Dubois are given control of her land, Melisent must choose marrying Hugh,to bring peace, or watch her village being slaughered.
