Until Death Do Us Part: Stemming the Tide of Divorce in the Church

This book is about God's plan for marriage to be a permanent relationship between a man and a woman as husband and wife for as long as they are alive. In Part One, the book clearly identifies and explores God's plan for marriage in a very simplistic manner designed to be understood by everyone, regardless of their educational level. The book takes the reader through the history of God's first implementation of marriage and His divine purposes for marriage. It also points single Christians to the right path of honoring God's command to remain sexually pure while they are waiting for their husband or wife blessing. It hones in on God's specific "love" commands to the husband that are critical to, but independent of his wife being able to fulfill God's commands to her. It underscores the importance of the wife's commands as they are intertwined with, but absolutely not dependent on the husband's commands. One of the books most important aspects is addressing the emotional, financial and spiritual costs of marriage, which engaged couples often overlook.

Part Two of the book addresses the practical aspects of living out God's plan for marriage. It explores the foundational importance of the Christian husband and wife being committed to obeying God's commands for their marital relationship as well as their relationship as brothers and sisters in Christ. The book includes the crucial importance of Christian couples understanding that their marriage goes beyond the vows they say to each other, and that it is a covenant that they make with God and with each other, and breaking that covenant has consequences. The book concludes with four foundational steps that are absolutely essential to having a successful Christian marriage. The couple must intentionally strive for effective communication; must avoid Satan's pitfalls and snares; must guard their marriage; and never let go each other's hand. These steps will help the couple to have a marriage that not only honors God, but also a marriage that will have genuine love, affection, romance and mutual respect and most of all, last a lifetime.
