The Origin of the Eight Coupling Constants of The Theory of Everything: U(8) Grand Unified Theory of Everything (GUTE), S8 Coupling Constant Symmetry, Space-Time Dependent Coupling Constants, Big Bang Vacuum Coupling Constants, Physics is Logic IV

This technical book puts The Theory of Everything coupling constants within the same framework as particle masses and mixing angles — as a result of a Higgs-like Mechanism based on coherent vacuum states. It completes the process of eliminating constants from The Theory of Everything lagrangian. Instead the vacuum contains the values of all coupling constants and particle masses.

One advantage of our approach is the ability to have space-time dependent coupling constants. The possible space-time dependence of coupling constants and particle masses has been an active area of experimental interest for many years.

The question of changes in the physical values of lagrangian constants' is of great physical and philosophical importance since it appears that the existence of life, as we know it, depends sensitively on their values. This dependence has been embodied in the Anthropomorphic Principle and studied by numerous physicists and philosophers.

Since our formulation allows space-time varying physical constants the question of the Anthropomorphic Principle attains a new importance. As we saw in the case of the theory of Black Holes, which was a theory without evidence for over forty years before Black Holes were discovered, Nature seems to provide phenomena that have been shown to be theoretically possible. Many other cases of this sort have also occurred in various parts of Physics — the most recent example at the time of this writing is Weyl fermions. Thus time varying constants are of interest.

The book also develops a U(8) Grand Unified Theory of Everything (GUTE). It shows that the coupling constants may form an 8th order Symmetry group representation under certain reasonable assumptions. It also discusses the Big Bang vacuum that results if coupling constants at the beginning of time are generated from the vacuum.
