Circus Fun!: Add Up To 9

MATH CONCEPT: Adding up to 9, specifically what pairs of numbers add up to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

PLOT: The NUMBERS (and their dog and 8's pet spider) run away to join the circus. To convince the ringmaster to hire them, each number puts on a show that highlights what pairs of numbers combine to create that number. Other fun facts about the number are sometimes included. For example, here's FOUR's performance, "I am Four . . . fearsome Four. Squares are something I adore. Rectangles all have 4 sides. Quadrupeds are fun to ride. It's so easy to make me. Look up now and watch and see. 1 + 3 or 3 + 1. 2 + 2 will get it done."

ACTIVITIES: Kids will enjoy coloring the black and white book and doing the activities in the back. The pictures and activities are designed to help children learn key "add up to 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 9" addition facts so they become easy and automatic.
