As a founding member of the White Rose student resistance in Munich during World War II, Sophie Scholl helped write, produce and distribute thousands of anti-Nazi leaflets. Her boyfriend, Captain Fritz Hartnagel, was forced to serve in Hitler's Army. Officer Hartnagel wrote to his girlfriend about his witnessing of SS and German army atrocities.
