Shibli: A Novel

Kyagaza, a young woman from a small village in Uganda, has set her goals high. A successful period as a teacher has positioned her to seek her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is thrilled when she learns that she has received a "full ride" scholarship from a prestigious U.S. university. Upon arriving in the States, she works hard to adjust to this new culture--including the U.S. version of dating and romance. Her ideal man, unfortunately, turns out to be deeply flawed. Leaving him turns out to be a matter of escape with one's life. The intense, "page-turner" saga of her romantic misadventure and eventual return to her family in Uganda captures both the head and the heart. SHIBLI is a story the reader won't soon forget.
