The Involuntary Ghostwriter: The Ghostwriter Series - Book One

The Involuntary Ghostwriter consists of overlapping narrative threads, one of growing up and coming of age, and the second of growing old and coming to terms. It tells the story of Jonathon Fry, who begins his lifelong dream of writing a novel, which begins as a fictionalized memoir of his own early life. But, after he awakes from an erotic dream of a beautiful woman he does not know, his thoughts are filled with memories that are not his own. He finds that the story he is writing is no longer his alone, but has morphed into that of someone else's life.

Jonathon's story grows into an epic tale, which purports to be the autobiography of God, and forms the common thread throughout the first three books of the series.

The Ghostwriter Series originated from a series of questions:

"What if God was one of us?" From the lyrics of the song 'One of Us', Joan Osborne's Top 40 hit in the 1990s.

What if, as the Christian Bible tells us we were created in the image of God?

What if, He was once just a boy who took His parents literally when they told Him 'He could be anything He wanted to be?

Since the writers of the Holy Books of the past have been men and women, what would have been that experience and its impact on the lives of those individuals chosen?

They were the Ghostwriters for God. Did they have a choice, or were they Involuntary Ghostwriters?

What if a new Holy Book were to appear? Who would be chosen to be its Ghostwriter?
