The legacy of a generation. An inheritance claimed. Now our past will define us.
I am Emery Kidd, one of two historians for my community. As a Chronicler, I am among the few who are aware of the minute details of a society dramatically changed over the course of the two hundred years since life regression began. I also know why the population of the planet has dwindled in that time and how history tends to repeat itself.
Regeneration is standard practice, an idyllic way to prolong life (or so it has long been assumed). But very soon, we regens will come face-to-face with our true inheritance. The question is how the consequences of this legacy will be received by the multitude. Once again, we have become complacent, and smugness could lead to our extinction.
Perhaps, there is something I can do-although I was not at first aware-I am much more than a data-pushing historian. Apparently, I am the daughter of the most famous regenerative to have ever lived. Accepting my heritage may hold the key to saving thousands of lives, including my own, perhaps also turning the diminishing path of civilization around for good.
Second Nature (previously titled Progeny) is a character-driven, mind- and time-bending tale. Fans of budding romance, social science fiction and literary fiction will enjoy part two of The Fountain trilogy.
BONUS: This edition includes an excerpt from Being Human, the final installment in The Fountain trilogy.
