Grant Saves the World

Twelve-year-old Grant Roberts gets a daily dose of stomach-turning burps and painful bruises from his older brother. He's sure his life can't get any worse. But when Grant and his friend Tony walk into Mason Middle School, creepy becomes the new normal. Almost all the kids have vanished. The halls and classrooms are nearly empty. Teachers stare with blank expressions and speak with unemotional voices. "Get a checkup with your doctor. It's for the greater good." Then Grant can't believe his eyes when he sees something so unnatural, he's sure it escaped from a nightmare.

After running away from school, Grant learns that the lives of his friends and family are in horrible danger. Now, he has to do something crazy, something no 7th-grader should ever be expected to do. Grant must save the world!
