I was raised in rural Mississippi in the 70s where there were very few advocacy avenues for children. Most families lived under the rule, "what happens in this house stays in this house." During my teenage years, I suffered sexual abuse in silence. My turbulent journey from abuse and numbness to forgiveness and healing is the inspiration for this book.
