Oscar is a wanted boy. The police believe he killed his own father. He did, but it's complicated. The whole thing was an accident, and his old man was a murderer who took every opportunity to abuse him.

Although Oscar feels guilty about his father's death, he can't let that stop him from carrying out his mission. With his pumpkin-skin mask and axe, the fifteen-year-old can connect with the spirit world and help the many ghosts that haunt his everyday life. Through them, Oscar begins to understand the true extent of his powers and his important destiny.

This violent, thrilling adventure follows the teen as he discovers the truth behind family secrets and the identity of the evil that has been stalking him. As Oscar becomes more and more obsessed with defeating the dark and dangerous power, he must decide whether it's worth sacrificing his soul for the cause. The more time he spends in the worlds of ghouls and spirits, the more parts of himself he loses.
