Shoot Out at Whiskey Springs (Slocum Series #278)

Slocum rides into town with a pack of mules, a greenhorn named Tad, and a hope for some healthy compensation. Instead of paying Slocum, the mules' owner fills Slocum and Tad with lead--killing the kid.
