Democratic Government in Poland: Constitutional Politics since 1989

A widely accepted institutional balance has gradually been worked out, says Sanford (politics, Bristol U.), and he describes how parliamentary sovereignty and judicial review have been defined, executive power has shifted from the president to the prime minister supported by a more efficient cabinet and civil service, and the full powers of the Constitutional Tribunal have been embodied in the 1997 constitution.
