Empire and the Gothic: The Politics of Genre

Postcolonial theory and scholarship on the Gothic are not generally thought to have much to do with each other, but here scholars of literature from Britain and anglophone North America read Gothic images of alienation, fragmentation, and otherness through the lens of postcolonial ideas relating to alterity.
