The Golden Rule Cook Book: Six Hundred Recipes for Meatless Dishes (Illustrated Edition)

Sharpe (nee Carpenter, later Freshel, 1867-1949) was a Boston socialite, designer and vegetarian activist. She often went by her initials M. R. L. (Maud Russell Lorraine), which she later spelled Emarel, and was known for dressing in faux furs and hosting vegetarian dinners. This cook book was first published in 1908 and went through a number of editions up to 1926. It is reprinted from the edition of 1912 which includes four photographic illustrations.
