This study investigates the archaeomalacological assemblages from three Bronze Age sites in the Aegean: Troia, Yenibademli and Ulucak. The principle aim of the study is to reveal the environmental factors and cultural and economic stimuli that may have affected the temporal and spatial patterns in the role and nature of shellfishing as an economic activity and the role of shellfish as an element of human nutrition.
