Like many adopted children, I grew up knowing I had the identity of one person, but with two names. It was that other name that had me curious all of my life.
I never thought I was different from anyone else because I was adopted, except when I went to a friend’s for dinner. I’d sit with a family that share the same laugh, smile, eye color, hair and mannerisms. I could only wonder who I might resemble.
Even all of the curiosity I chased didn’t prepare me for the emotional reality it involved when my birth mother found me.
Face to Face is the emotional journey I numbly stumbled through when my birth mother entered my life unexpectedly.
It’s a positive look at what birth family relationships can be like and was written for any age group. I never knew the mind was capable of so many different emotional depths until I embarked on them.. My birth mother didn’t only find me, she and my mom have became life long friends. It has been a very enriching experience.
I hope in sharing my positive outcome with other people that they can make their end results successful too.
