Criminological Theory: Context and Consequences

The third edition continues the sociological focus on criminological theory of the earlier editions. A new chapter situates current criminological theory within the context of what is considered "mainstream" in society, examining differential association, strain theory, control theory, routine activity, integrated, and life-course theories. The remainder of the volume describes criminology mainly in the US, examining recent changes in crime patterns, new material on various theories, and an expanded bibliography. The three authors teach administration of justice, sociology, and criminal justice at American universities.
