Life has grown dull for the animals on Farmer Joe’s farm. Dudley the mule loves the new quiet life he has with his wife, Daisy, but he’s ready for some excitement. Dudley asks Farmer Joe if they can have a small party to liven things up at the farm. Farmer Joe thinks it’s a great idea, so Dudley and his friends meet under the tree by the fence to plan. They share silly stories and heartfelt memories, and Dudley notices how everyone’s eyes are sparkling with energy. Maybe, Dudley thinks, they should have a really big party to celebrate life on the farm—a Grand Harvest Ball! Farmer Joe and Dudley invite neighbors and other animal friends to the get-together.
