No Defense

LuAnn Hagerdorn Garrett abandons hectic city life to return to her home town of Tallagumsa, Alabama, along with her husband and three small children. Her father, Newell, long a leading citizen of Tallagumsa, is now a front-running candidate for governor of the state. LuAnn's newfound serenity is shattered when, very much through her own dogged persistence concerning an old civil rights case, her father is suddenly named the prime suspect in a racial killing. No Defense whirls to an eye-opening climax, as the pressure of the investigation and ensuing trial unravels LuAnn's family and forces her into a painful confrontation with her own moral values.
