A WOMAN UNASHAMEDLY HOOKED ON LIFE AND ALL OF ITS POSSIBILITIES!
Named for a character in Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing, Hero O'Reilly has been working on the sometimes bloody front lines of a large national bank's Help Desk for two years, hoping for a chance to become a part of the hyper-technical and exciting Network Security Arena. She lives in Richmond, Virginia, where she has found not only a job, but a landlady and personal mentor in Sally, who offers Hero some much-needed assistance regarding her love life, appearance, and naiveté. And Hero needs all the help she can get, as she gets involved with a couple of interesting men and two out-of-the-ordinary dogs.
At work, Hero has caught the attention of Mike Christian, one of the top techies on the East Coast and her technical mentor. He leads an elite band of Cyber X-Men, who have the tools and experience to go after the really bad guys. Hero discovers that someone is trying to do some major hacking and breaking into a network-never a good thing. As she and the CX-Men dig deeper, Hero uncovers some strange and hard-to-explain issues. Mike decides to bring the FBI into the case, which continues to take some strange and curious twists. And things get really ugly when the villain starts using strictly un-technological techniques like explosions and kidnapping!
