The Buddy System

New Orleans detectives Jack Hardy and Early Moore need a bust. Assigned to a surveillance unit, they see an opportunity and recruit drug dealer Lamont Brown. Unfortunately, Lamont sees opportunity in them, too. Lamont feeds them information, letting them claim high-profile drug busts while getting rid of his competition. Then he demands they bury a dead body and find work for his no-good cousin Jello. In their efforts to satisfy Lamont, Hardy and Early stumble on a scheme to bilk post-Katrina reconstruction efforts while dodging dirty cops, street thugs, crooked contractors, and white supremacist hit men. When Lamont's main rival finds out he's been ratting, Lamont calls in Hardy and Early to help him . . . or get them out of the way.
