Rene Louis Dargenson

Rene Louis d'Argenson's ESSAIS DANS LE GOUT DE MONTAGNE was composed by the author in 1736. It was edited and published by his son in 1787. There were two English translation of this work---one in Dublin in 1789 and a second in Boston in 1797. There are fifty short essays in this work which dealt with historical and literary figures. In a large part of the work, he dealt with personalities and issues from the 18thC. The work has been described as being interspersed with
